1973 base: This type is used by judges of the Surrogate Court and is indicated by the "JSC" plate code.  The blue/orange base began in 1973 and ran until replaced by the Statue of Liberty base in 1986.  This plate, however, is dated and was only for use during the year of the plate.  The type is used by Supreme Court justices and is indicated by the "SCJ" plate code.
