COMMERCIAL TRUCK

1972 "72" base:  This design was introduced in 1972 along side the "72" dated passenger design and was renewed annually with yearly stickers.  The plate number format had the county number as a prefix (see Nebraska county codes page), followed a vertical stacked "COMM" separator, then the plate number.  At the top is "TRUCK" shifted to the right to leave room for the weight class sticker.

 

 

1976 "76" base:  This design was introduced in 1976 along side the 1976 bicentennial graphic passenger design and was renewed annually with yearly stickers.  The plate number format had the county number as a prefix (see Nebraska county codes page), followed a vertical stacked "COMM" separator, then the plate number.  At the top is "TRUCK" shifted to the right to leave room for the weight class sticker.

 

 

1984 plain blue/white base:  This design was introduced in 1984 along side the passenger of the same design.  The plate number format had the county number as a prefix (see Nebraska county codes page), the all-numeric plate number to the right, with a vertical stacked "COMM" as a separator.  No leading zeros were used in the plate number.

 

 

 

1987 red/white base:  This design was introduced in 1987 ("88" expiration sticker) and was issued along side the 1987 sun graphic passenger design.  The plate number format had the county number as a prefix (see Nebraska county codes page), followed a vertical stacked "COMM" separator, then the plate number.  At the top is "NEBR TRUCK".  The second stickerwell was for the weight class sticker.

2002 black/white base:  This design was introduced in 2002 ("03" expiration sticker) and was issued along side the 2002 sand hill cranes graphic passenger design.  The plate number format had the county number as a prefix (see Nebraska county codes page), followed a vertical stacked "COMM" separator, then the plate number.  At the top is "NEBR TRUCK".  As with the passenger, the design began in embossed format, then later was completely flat.  The second stickerwell was for the weight class sticker.
